This quote was one was the sad parts of the book. I thought that Alfred would never fight again and put up the gloves for good but Donatelli let him continue. Even though Alfred may not liked it that much but it was still a part of him. Also it taught him a lot of lessons. The book revolves around boxing so it would have been kind of wired not seeing Alfred box anymore. Alfred boxed so it would teach him different things like how to be a contender and without boxing he would never understand

This quote was special to me. Because I was waiting for Alfred to stand up for himself the whole book. Once this happened it felt like my favorite team just won the playoffs, that is how excited I was . The whole time that major was bullying him but now this is when Alfred came into his own person. This was like one of the major turning points in the book. James and the others wanted to help rob the store and wanted Alfred to join them but Alfred wasn't having no parts of it. Almost like in a the first chapter but that time you could tell he was still scared. But not this time

This quote was when Alfred and James reunited at the end of the book. So this stood out because it kind of touched my feelings, I was expecting them to never be friends again after what James said to Alfred at the party. This shows how loyal Alfred actually is, he stood by Alfred side throughout the whole book. In real life friends like Alfred is needed. Even when James turned his back towards Alfred, who would've knew that Alfred was going to be there no matter what happened.

This quote really relates to me because sometimes I think to myself and feel the same way. I don't want to spend my whole life in one place. I want to go to college and become successful. That is why I try my hardest in school and do the best that I can. Maybe I don't want to be like Alfred and be a champion of the world, but I know what he is talking about when he says he want to be someone special.
